Welcome to My Little Corner of the Photography World
Hello and welcome — I’m Tracey, the photographer behind Tracey Davies Photography, and I’m so excited to share my first blog post with you.
Starting this blog feels a bit like opening the door to my studio and inviting you in for a cuppa.
Photography is central to my life. It’s what I love, what drives me, and what gives me a real sense of purpose. Launching this space gives me the chance to reflect and tell the stories behind the images I create and share insights and inspiration with you.
Why I Started This Blog
Photography isn’t just about pressing a shutter. It’s about connection, with people, with places, with moments that deserve to be held onto. This blog will be a place where I can:
Share the stories behind my favourite events, weddings and photography sessions.
Offer tips for clients preparing for their wedding, event, or portrait session.
Talk about the creative process and what inspires me.
Celebrate the beautiful people, families, and communities I get to photograph.
My hope is that you’ll get to know not just my work, but me, the person behind the lens.

A Little About Me
Essex Wedding Photographer - Tracey Davies Photography
I’m based in a village just outside Colchester. I specialise in natural, emotive, storytelling photography — the kind that feels honest and full of life. I love golden-hour light, genuine laughter, and the quiet in-between moments that often become the most meaningful images.
I have always loved photography, however it became more a lot more meaningful and significant for me in more recent years. I started my journey with photography with more abstract, street photography, then to sports photography. I realised I was always drawn to people’s faces, the emotion, the laughter, the sincerity in connection with others. I was drawn to capturing the best of humanity and this is what led me on to wedding photography. A wedding day is filled with love, emotion, genuine connection and affections. I feel so privileged to be in the heartbeat of someone’s most special day and capture those most intricate and intimate moments. After falling madly in love with weddings and people’s special celebration events, I launched Tracey Davies Photography officially in October 2023. I have not looked back! It has been an incredible journey, over 70 weddings captured already and I cannot wait to see what the future holds, which couples I will meet, which families I will meet, which stories I will have the privilege of telling.
